Patna: Political activity intensified in Bihar on Thursday morning ahead of the cabinet expansion under Samrat Choudhary, with indications of significant changes within the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership structure.

According to party sources, senior BJP leader Mangal Pandey may not be included in the expanded cabinet, as the party seeks to recalibrate caste and regional representation ahead of upcoming political challenges.

New Faces From Brahmin Community

Sources indicated that the BJP is considering introducing new Brahmin leaders into the cabinet.

Among the names being discussed prominently is Nitish Mishra, while BJP leader Mithilesh Tiwari is also being seen as a potential ministerial candidate.

Party insiders said the move is aimed at strengthening the BJP’s outreach in the Mithila region and consolidating support among Brahmin voters.

Bhumihar Representation Also In Focus

The BJP is also expected to maintain strong representation for the Bhumihar community.

According to reports, deputy chief minister Vijay Kumar Sinha is likely to retain a significant role in the government, while there is speculation over the possible induction of Shailendra.

Political observers said the party appears focused on balancing social representation with regional considerations across Mithilanchal, Magadh and Seemanchal.

Speculation Over Mangal Pandey’s Future

The possible exclusion of Mangal Pandey has generated discussion within BJP circles, given his long-standing prominence in the party and previous role as health minister.

Pandey has traditionally been regarded as one of the BJP’s most influential Brahmin leaders in Bihar, with strong organisational and administrative experience.

Party leaders, however, suggested that the current exercise is intended to create a balance between experienced figures and emerging leaders.

Awaiting Final Announcement

No official list of ministers had been released at the time of reporting, and senior BJP leaders said the final decision would be taken by the party leadership in consultation with the chief minister.

Attention is now focused on the swearing-in ceremony at Gandhi Maidan, where the final composition of the cabinet is expected to become clear.
