Patna: JD(U) leader Sanjay Jha and Bihar deputy chief minister Samrat Choudhary have pressed the central government to expand flight services in the state ahead of the upcoming festive season, citing rising passenger demand.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Sanjay Jha said he and Samrat Choudhary met civil aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu in New Delhi to request additional flights from Patna, Gayaji and Darbhanga airports during Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath Puja. They also sought the launch of flight services from Purnia airport and pressed for a direct Darbhanga–Bengaluru route.

The leaders argued that the festive period will witness a sharp rise in passenger traffic, which current services may not be able to accommodate. Expanding connectivity, they said, would not only ease travel for residents but also strengthen Bihar’s cultural and economic links with other regions.
