Motihari: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 311 development projects worth over ₹628 crore in East Champaran, marking a significant step toward accelerating the region’s growth. The projects include those announced during the state’s Pragati Yatra, aimed at enhancing infrastructure and public welfare in the district.
Following the ceremonies, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of ongoing projects in the region. In a tweet, he stated, “The implementation of these projects will further accelerate the region’s development, significantly benefiting the people.”
He also participated in a dialogue with beneficiaries of various government schemes, including the Social Security Pension Scheme, Jeevika Didi’s, and electricity consumers. Additionally, all domestic electricity consumers in Bihar are now provided with virtually free electricity. The government has also taken positive steps for the welfare of Jeevika Didi’s, a group of women associated with the state’s livelihood mission. Beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction with these initiatives, highlighting their positive impact.
During the visit, CM Kumar interacted with local workers, addressing their concerns and suggestions. He directed officials to take appropriate action to resolve the issues raised. “We have approved and begun work on all the schemes announced during the Pragati Yatra in record time. The government is committed to fulfilling all announcements,” he tweeted.
The projects are expected to boost infrastructure, improve access to essential services, and enhance the quality of life for residents of East Champaran.
