Patna: The official residence of the chief minister at 1 Aney Marg has been renamed “Lok Sevak Awas”, with the decision taking effect on Tuesday.
The residence, now allotted to Samrat Choudhary, follows a recent trend of renaming key government buildings. The Raj Bhavan had earlier been rechristened “Lok Bhavan”.
MLA Complex To Get Green Spaces
In a parallel development, plans have been approved to create a children’s park within the MLA residential complex on Veerchand Patel Path in Patna.
The proposal was cleared during a meeting chaired by Prem Kumar. Officials said unused open spaces in the complex would be landscaped with ornamental and fragrant plants.
Themed Gardens Planned
According to Piyush Kumar Barnwal, the area will be divided into zones featuring themed green spaces, including a fruit garden, butterfly garden, herbal garden, Miyawaki forest patch and a terracotta garden. Bamboo plantations are also planned as part of the landscaping effort.
Health Centre And Sports Complex
The meeting also reviewed proposals for constructing a health centre and a sports complex within the residential premises.
Anil Kumar presented plans for the facilities, which aim to improve amenities for residents.
The proposed health centre will offer basic medical services, including allopathic, homeopathic and AYUSH treatments, along with diagnostic facilities such as ultrasound and ECG.
The sports complex, planned as a G+2 structure, will include a gymnasium and multipurpose hall on the ground floor, with indoor sports facilities such as badminton and table tennis courts on the upper levels.
Officials said the projects are part of a broader effort to improve infrastructure and living conditions within government residential complexes in the state.
