Patna: The Bihar Cricket Association honoured players and support staff from its title-winning plate group teams at a ceremony on February 14 2026, celebrating a season that officials described as a marker of steady progress for domestic cricket in the state. Athletes from the Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy and Under-23 Colonel C. K. Nayudu Trophy squads were recognised for what the association called their discipline, collective effort and sustained performances across the 2025–26 season.
The Ranji Trophy plate group champions formed the centrepiece of the event, with players including Ayush Loharuka, Bipin Saurabh, Sakibul Gani and Vaibhav Suryavanshi among those honoured. Association officials said the campaign reflected improving competitiveness and stronger team culture within Bihar cricket. The long list of recognised players and support staff underscored the emphasis on collective contribution rather than individual accolades.
Similar recognition was extended to the senior men’s squad that won the Vijay Hazare Trophy plate group title. Team manager Nandan Kumar Singh and coaching staff led by head coach Vinayak Shamat were acknowledged alongside players for shaping a balanced and disciplined unit. The association highlighted the role of support professionals such as physiotherapist Hemendu Kumar Singh and strength and conditioning coach Gopal Kumar in maintaining player performance throughout the season.
The Under-23 side, champions of the Colonel C. K. Nayudu Trophy plate group, was also honoured, reflecting what officials described as encouraging depth in the state’s cricket pipeline. Players including Prithvi Raj, Akash Raj and Harshit Anand were among those felicitated, with coaches and support staff praised for developing young talent and strengthening long-term structures within Bihar cricket.
Speaking at the event, association president Harshvardhan said the commitment displayed by players and staff across all three competitions demonstrated the positive direction of cricket in Bihar. Secretary Ziaul Arfeen added that consistent guidance from coaching and support teams had helped maintain stable performances, expressing confidence that future seasons would build on this momentum.
The ceremony was attended by district representatives from across the state, office bearers of the Bihar Cricket Association and invited delegates. Organisers said the gathering reflected a broader effort to create a collaborative culture around cricket development, as Bihar seeks to translate recent plate group success into stronger performances at higher levels of Indian domestic cricket.
