Motihari: Travelling from Bihar to Delhi has become easier with the start of the Amrit Bharat Express. This new train now runs directly from Bapudham Motihari railway station to Anand Vihar in Delhi. It operates two days a week — leaving Motihari on Tuesdays and Fridays, and returning from Delhi on Wednesdays and Saturdays. On its first day, passengers were full of excitement and praised the new service.
This is the second major train from Motihari to Delhi after the Saptkranti Express. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Amrit Bharat Express by flagging it off digitally during his visit to Motihari on 18 July. Since then, the train has seen huge demand and is fully booked till the end of August.
The train has 22 coaches, including 11 general coaches, 8 sleeper coaches, one pantry car, and two engines. It is designed to give comfort to both general and sleeper class passengers. The train can run at a speed of up to 130 km per hour.
Passengers will get modern facilities like mobile charging points, clean toilets friendly for persons with disabilities, fire safety systems, and LED lighting. People travelling on this route have thanked Prime Minister Modi and said their journey will now be faster, easier, and more comfortable.
