Gaya/Patna: The Bihar cabinet has approved multiple infrastructure and security-related projects for the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor being developed at Dobhi in Gaya district.
The project, considered a major industrial initiative of the state government, includes plans for water supply, transport connectivity and security infrastructure aimed at supporting industrial development in the region.
Rs. 428 crore reservoir approved
The cabinet approved the construction of an 8.5 ACM-capacity reservoir for the industrial corridor at an estimated cost of Rs. 428 crore.
Officials said 324 acres of land have been identified for the project, which is intended to meet industrial water requirements and support groundwater recharge.
In the initial phase, the project aims to supply 8.5 million litres of water per day.
Dedicated police station and BMP camp planned
To strengthen security in the industrial zone, the government has approved the establishment of a dedicated police station within the administrative block of the corridor.
Land levelling work for the facility has already begun. A permanent camp for Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP)-17 will also be set up in the same security zone.
50 acres transferred to home department
The cabinet has approved the transfer of 50 acres of government land free of cost to the state home department for the construction of the permanent BMP-17 Bodh Gaya battalion camp near the prime location in Dobhi block.
Officials said the move is expected to improve security arrangements for the industrial area.
Mega project spread across 1,670 acres
The industrial corridor is being developed over 1,670.22 acres of land.
According to the government, this includes 636.88 acres of government land and 1,016.24 acres of privately owned raiyati land. Authorities said most of the land acquisition and compensation process has already been completed.
