Gayaji: A violent domestic altercation in Bihar’s Gaya district has taken a disturbing turn, with a woman allegedly biting off and swallowing her husband’s tongue during a heated argument.
The incident occurred in the Khijrasarai area, where a dispute between the couple reportedly escalated over a minor issue. In a shocking act of aggression, the woman is said to have bitten down on her husband’s tongue, chewed it, and swallowed it during the confrontation.
The husband, identified as Chhote Das, was rushed to the Khijrasarai Community Health Centre by his family after his condition deteriorated. According to medical staff, Das was bleeding profusely and required immediate attention. He was later referred to Magadh Medical College Hospital for further treatment.
“There was a lot of bleeding. The patient was stabilised here and then sent to Magadh Medical College for advanced care,” said Meena Rai, the medical officer in charge at the community health centre.
The bizarre nature of the incident has sparked widespread speculation in the local area. While some villagers attribute the act to extreme anger, others have linked it to superstition. Despite the severity of the attack, no formal police complaint has been filed. Khijrasarai police have confirmed they are aware of the matter but are yet to receive an official report.
