Patna: Bihar’s Education Department won the first prize in the Independence Day parade with its tableau themed “Reading Bihar, Growing Bihar.” The display showed the state government’s focus on improving schools and making education a top priority. It called on families to send their children to school, saying the school bell has started ringing for every child in Bihar.
The tableau highlighted changes in the state’s schools in recent years. A large number of new teachers have been appointed, which has made the student-teacher ratio better than the national average. Schools now have smart classes, computer labs, libraries, playgrounds, clean toilets and safe drinking water. Teachers are also being given tablets under the e-Shiksha Kosh scheme to help monitor schools online.
The tableau was designed under the guidance of Additional Chief Secretary Dr S Siddharth and prepared by artists from Patna Art College. State Project Director Mayank Warvade and Programme Officer Dr Uday Kumar Ujjwal worked hard with their team to complete it. A girls’ band from Dhaneshwari High School and a short act by artists of Kilkari added more life to the presentation, which was warmly received by the Chief Minister.
The win has brought happiness across the education community in Bihar. Education Minister Sunil Kumar, Dr Siddharth, Warvade and Ujjwal have been receiving congratulations from teachers and officials. For many, the prize is a proud moment that reflects the state’s commitment to making education the path to a stronger and brighter Bihar.
