Patna: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has made a big statement ahead of the Bihar Assembly Election 2025. He said the upcoming election will be tough and interesting, but the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) seems to be in a stronger position. Ramdev praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and compared him to the Himalayas, saying his leadership is steady, tall, and dependable. His comments have quickly become a talking point in political circles as parties prepare for the crucial election.
Ramdev said that people in Bihar trust the work and policies of Prime Minister Modi. According to him, Modi’s development programmes have created a strong connection with the people, and that is why the NDA alliance appears to have the edge this time too. He said, “Every political party has the right to express its opinion and contest elections, but the mood of the public is clearly in favour of the NDA.” Ramdev also mentioned that the election in Bihar would be closely fought, with all parties putting in their best efforts to win the people’s support.
The yoga guru also spoke about Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav. He praised Tejashwi for emerging as a strong and prepared leader. Ramdev said, “Tejashwi Yadav has established himself as a serious political figure and has entered this election with full preparation.” He added that Bihar’s politics has always been full of excitement and that this time too, people will witness an interesting and competitive contest. His remarks were seen as a rare moment of appreciation for the opposition from someone known to be close to the ruling alliance.
However, Ramdev’s most direct comment came when he spoke about former RJD leader Mohammad Shahabuddin. He described Shahabuddin as a “master criminal” and said it was wrong to glorify such figures in politics. “Making the successor of a master criminal like Shahabuddin a symbol of political pride is not appropriate,” he said. Ramdev added that the NDA remains an organised and stable alliance under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, which has brought progress in several areas. He said, “Hardly any other leader in the country has the stature and stability of Modi ji. His leadership has given India a new direction.”
Baba Ramdev’s comments have stirred new discussions ahead of the Bihar elections. His strong praise for Modi and the NDA, along with his sharp remarks against Shahabuddin, have drawn attention from both supporters and critics.
