Kaimur: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator faced public anger while campaigning in her own constituency in Bihar’s Kaimur district ahead of the 2025 state elections.
According to reports, Mohania MLA Sangita Kumari encountered strong opposition on Sunday evening when she visited Govardhanpur and Rampur Tola in Mohanpur village to campaign. A video of the incident, which shows residents protesting her arrival, has since gone viral on social media.
MLA Stayed Inside Car Amid Protests
As tensions escalated, Kumari reportedly chose to remain inside her car for safety reasons before eventually leaving the area. The protest took place near the Kudra block, which borders Rohtas district, within her Mohania Assembly constituency.
‘Planned Mistreatment’ Unacceptable, Says MLA
Expressing her disappointment, the MLA condemned the treatment she received. “The premeditated and planned mistreatment of a woman legislator is absolutely unacceptable,” she said, adding that while protest is a democratic right, such behaviour towards a woman was “deeply concerning.”
