Patna: Bihar is bracing for a high-voltage political showdown after Chhath Puja, as the state’s festive calm gives way to a full-throttle election campaign. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Mallikarjun Kharge are set to hold a flurry of rallies, joined by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav, and major Left leaders.
The campaign, which had slowed due to a string of festivals including Diwali, Bhaiya Dooj, Govardhan Puja, and Chhath, will regain momentum from October 29. Sources confirmed that Modi’s rally schedule between October 30 and November 7 has been finalised, covering key constituencies across both election phases.
Meanwhile, Congress and Left leaders are also preparing for extensive outreach programs. Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, along with party president Mallikarjun Kharge, will address multiple gatherings, while Left leaders plan coordinated campaigns across northern and central Bihar.
On the ruling side, Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav are expected to ramp up their daily engagements from three to four meetings to nearly double that as polling nears. Prashant Kishor, leading the Jan Suraj movement, will also begin a continuous series of public interactions from October 28.
Chief ministers from BJP-ruled states are scheduled to join the campaign, adding to the intensity of the contest. The first phase of polling will take place on November 6, with campaigning ending on November 4, while the second phase will be held on November 11, ending two days prior.
That leaves just 13 days between the conclusion of Chhath Parana and the end of campaigning for the second phase—making it the most concentrated stretch of the Bihar Election 2025. Both the NDA and INDIA bloc have mapped out aggressive ground strategies to mobilise voters across all key constituencies.
