Patna: The Election Commission is expected to declare Bihar assembly elections in early October, with voting likely to be held in November over two or three phases.
The Election Commission is preparing to announce the Bihar assembly elections in the first or second week of October, according to sources. Voting is expected between 5 and 15 November, with counting likely to be set for November 20. The entire process will be concluded before the deadline of November 22.
Officials indicated the formal announcement will come after the festive season, once Durga Puja, Dussehra and Chhath Puja conclude. A final voter list is scheduled for release on September 30, after which the Commission will confirm poll dates.
A team from the Commission is also due to visit Bihar this month to review preparations. Voting is expected to be conducted in two or three phases.
