Patna: Bihar’s ruling Janata Dal (United) has intensified preparations for the upcoming state elections, with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar fronting a high-profile campaign. The party has unveiled a list of 40 star campaigners, featuring five women among other senior leaders.
The list includes Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, popularly known as Lallan Singh, senior state minister Ashok Choudhary, and Shivhar MP Lovely Anand, alongside Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself. Other notable figures named are Sanjay Kumar Jha, Ramnath Thakur, Vijendra Prasad Yadav, Umesh Singh Kushwaha, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Shravan Kumar, Manish Kumar Verma, Afaq Ahmed Khan, and Saryu Rai. The roster also features Reena Yadav, Kavita Singh, Kahkashan Parveen, Bharti Mehta, and Dr Shweta Vishwas.

The JD(U) has confirmed candidates for all 101 seats under its quota in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). In the alliance’s seat-sharing arrangement, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will also contest 101 seats. Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (R) has been allocated 29 seats, Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) six seats, and Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Samata Party six seats. All NDA allies have now announced their candidates for their respective constituencies.
