Patna: As Dhanteras and Diwali approach, the Patna Police have implemented heightened security measures across the city to ensure public safety. Major markets, including the bustling bullion market, are under special surveillance amid the expected surge in shoppers.
Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Sharma said that plainclothes officers have been deployed to monitor crowds and identify suspicious activity. Patrol teams are also active, aiming to prevent theft, snatching, and other crimes during the festival period.
Drone cameras will be used to monitor crowded areas, while traffic police have been instructed to manage congestion and ensure smooth movement across the city.
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour immediately to the police control room or the nearest station. “Prompt reporting can help us take timely action and maintain a safe environment for festival-goers,” Sharma added.
