Patna: The election campaign in Bihar is gathering momentum ahead of the two-phase assembly elections scheduled for November, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to hold ten public rallies across the state. Sources indicate the number of meetings may increase if deemed necessary.
The first phase of voting will take place on November 6, with notifications for candidates issued on October 10 and nominations closing on October 17. The second phase notification is due on October 14, and the counting of votes is scheduled for November 14.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will launch his campaign from October 10, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President J.P. Nadda are each slated to address around 25 rallies. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will hold approximately ten and five to six meetings, respectively.
Campaigning is also expected to make extensive use of helicopters, with BJP leaders deploying five to six, Congress three, JDU two to three, and RJD two helicopters to reach constituencies across the state.
Under the supervision of the Election Commission and strict security measures, the political temperature in Bihar is rising sharply, with public meetings set to fill every district in the coming weeks.
