Patna: Voting in the second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly elections saw a brisk turnout on Tuesday, with 60.40% of voters casting their ballots across 20 districts by 3pm, according to data from the Election Commission of India.
Kishanganj recorded the highest turnout at 66.10%, followed by Purnia (64.22%), Katihar (63.80%), Jamui (63.33%), and Banka (63.03%). Districts such as West Champaran (61.99%) and East Champaran (61.92%) also reported strong participation.

A total of 37,013,556 voters are eligible to vote in this phase, spread across 45,399 polling stations. Of these, 19,544,041 are men, 17,468,572 are women, and 943 are third-gender voters. Hisua is the largest constituency in terms of the number of registered voters.
Polling began early in the morning and will continue until 5pm. The fate of 1,302 candidates contesting 122 assembly seats will be sealed in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) by the end of the day.
Officials expect the final turnout to surpass that of the first phase, reflecting high public engagement in this election cycle. Counting of votes is scheduled for November 14.
In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, the seat distribution across these 122 constituencies saw the BJP winning 42, the RJD 33, JD(U) 20, Congress 11, CPI (ML) 5, AIMIM 5, HAM 4, BSP 1, and one seat going to an independent candidate.
