Patna: With less than two weeks to go before the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is ramping up its campaign efforts. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the state on October 24, followed by a series of rallies aimed at energising party workers ahead of polling.
Amid the escalating campaign, former Union Minister and ex-BJP MP Raj Kumar Singh (RK Singh) has stirred controversy by levelling serious allegations against key political figures. In a sharp attack, Singh accused Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Janata Dal (United) leader Anant Singh, and Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) Suraj Bhan Singh of murder. He went on to write that “it is better to drown in a small amount of water than to vote for such people,” calling Suraj Bhan a “don” and claiming that Anant Singh was “beaten and chased away after being accused of murdering Samrat Choudhary.”
BJP State President Dr. Dilip Jaiswal announced that the Prime Minister’s campaign will gather further momentum on October 30, with public meetings scheduled in Muzaffarpur and Chhapra. PM Modi is expected to hold 12 rallies across Bihar, beginning in Samastipur, as part of the NDA’s effort to strengthen its outreach.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Giriraj Singh launched a fresh attack on the opposition’s Grand Alliance, mocking the ongoing tussle over ticket distribution. “The situation in the Grand Alliance is chaotic—parties are being accused of selling tickets for money, and several candidates are in tears,” he remarked. Taking a jibe at RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Singh added, “Laluji wants to make his son Tejashwi the Chief Minister, but his own workers are so angry that if he opens the gate of his house, they will tear his kurta. So, Laluji, don’t open the gate.”
