Patna: Bihar Energy Secretary and Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Limited Chairman-cum-Managing Director Ajay Yadav inspected the 132/33 kV grid substation at Dumraon in Buxar district on Sunday before participating in the state’s Panchayat Vikas Diwas programme and launching the district’s Pulse Polio campaign.
During the visit, Yadav reviewed the operational status of the grid substation and later attended development-related programmes at Churamanpur Gram Panchayat as the state government’s designated Secretary-in-Charge for Buxar district.
Grid Inspection Focuses On Safety And Reliability
During his inspection of the Dumraon grid substation, Yadav reviewed the quality of electricity supply, the functioning of power transformers and other electrical equipment, maintenance practices and safety standards.
He interacted with officials to assess technical and operational arrangements and directed them to ensure regular maintenance of all equipment while strictly adhering to safety protocols.
Yadav said uninterrupted and safe electricity supply, along with the timely resolution of technical faults, remained the department’s priority.
Senior officials of the power department accompanied him during the inspection.
Panchayat Vikas Diwas Observed
Yadav later attended the Panchayat Vikas Diwas programme organised at Churamanpur Gram Panchayat in Buxar Sadar block.
The event, held under the Bihar government’s initiative to observe Panchayat Vikas Diwas on the last Sunday of every month, included a review of ongoing development schemes in the panchayat.
Villagers also participated in a collective listening session of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat.
Focus On Women-Friendly Panchayats
This month’s Panchayat Vikas Diwas was organised around the theme of “Women-Friendly Panchayat”.
Discussions focused on gender equality, women’s participation in local governance, education and skill development, economic empowerment, health and nutrition services, safety for women and girls, women-friendly public infrastructure and inclusive rural development.
Officials emphasised the need to accelerate the implementation of these initiatives at the grassroots level.
Pulse Polio Campaign Begins
Yadav also formally launched the National Pulse Polio Campaign in Buxar district by administering oral polio vaccine drops to a newborn at the Churamanpur Panchayat Bhawan.
The immunisation drive will run from June 28 to July 2 and aims to vaccinate around 2.6 lakh children below the age of five across the district, according to officials.
