Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has announced that a University of Physics and Sciences will be established at the Patna Science College campus as part of the state government’s plan to strengthen higher education and scientific research.

The announcement came during the Chief Minister’s inspection of Patna Science College, where he reviewed the campus and directed officials to prepare a comprehensive and time-bound development plan for the institution.

New university to focus on research and innovation

According to the Chief Minister, the proposed University of Physics and Sciences will become a premier institution dedicated to higher education, cutting-edge research and innovation in physics and allied sciences.

He said the university will provide students and researchers with world-class academic facilities, advanced laboratories and modern research infrastructure, helping Bihar emerge as a stronger centre for science and technology.

Reviving Patna Science College’s legacy

Choudhary said Patna Science College has a distinguished academic and scientific history, and the state government intends to restore its former stature by developing it into a nationally recognised institution for scientific excellence.
