Patna: The Bihar government on Thursday launched the official website of the Bihar State Film Development Corporation, unveiling a digital platform designed to showcase shooting locations, catalogue local artists and simplify coordination for film and television productions.
The website- https://biharfilm.web.app/– was formally launched by Pratyaya Amrit, Bihar’s chief secretary, alongside Rachna Patil, secretary of expenditure, at an event in Patna attended by senior officials from the art and culture department.
Presenting the platform, Pranav Kumar, secretary of the art and culture department, said the website offers a visually rich, user-friendly guide to filming locations across Bihar, using high-quality images to give producers and location scouts a realistic sense of place. He said the portal allows filmmakers anywhere in the world to explore Bihar’s landscapes, heritage sites and urban settings remotely.

Beyond locations, the site also carries detailed information on artists from the state and creates a digital ecosystem intended to improve coordination between government departments involved in film permissions. Private sector service providers — including equipment suppliers and production support firms — can register on the platform, making their services easier for filmmakers to access.
In his address, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit described the launch as part of the state’s broader push towards digital governance. Emphasising “ease of doing business” as a guiding principle, he said the website marked a concrete step towards larger digital reforms planned by the state by 2026, particularly in sectors such as culture and creative industries.
Senior officials including Development Commissioner Mihir Kumar Singh, and heads of the directorates of cultural affairs and archaeology were present at the launch. The vote of thanks was delivered by Deepak Kumar Singh from the general administration department.
