Work-From-Home Encouraged
The Bihar government also advised both government and private offices to promote a work-from-home culture.
Authorities believe the measure could help reduce traffic congestion, fuel consumption and daily commuting costs.
‘No Vehicle Day’ Appeal
As part of the broader conservation campaign, the government appealed to citizens to voluntarily observe a “No Vehicle Day” once every week.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging behavioural changes in transport habits and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
Palm Oil Use In Government Canteens To Be Reduced
The chief minister also announced instructions to minimise the use of palm oil in canteens operating inside government offices.
While officials did not provide detailed guidelines regarding implementation, the move was presented as part of a wider push towards resource conservation and sustainability.
The announcements come at a time when governments across India are discussing energy security and fuel conservation amid volatility in global oil markets linked to geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
