Patna: The Government of Bihar on Wednesday announced the launch of “Brand Bihar”, a new initiative aimed at reshaping the state’s public image and promoting Bihar as a destination for investment, innovation and economic opportunity.

The programme has been established under the Chief Secretary’s Cell and will focus on building a cohesive long-term identity for Bihar through coordinated branding, communication and strategic positioning efforts.

According to the government, the initiative seeks to highlight the state’s developmental progress, institutional reforms, entrepreneurship ecosystem, cultural heritage and citizen-led transformation at national and international platforms.

Initiative To Function Under Chief Secretary’s Leadership

The initiative will function under the leadership of Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, who will provide strategic direction for the programme.

The government said the initiative would also be supported by Shradha Sharma, Founder and CEO of YourStory Media.

Officials said “Brand Bihar” would work in coordination with multiple state government departments as well as institutions, industry stakeholders, startups, academic bodies and communities to create what it described as a “unified narrative” around Bihar’s transformation.

Key Focus Areas Of ‘Brand Bihar’

According to the government, the initiative will focus on:

  • Building and strengthening Bihar’s identity through evidence-based communication and storytelling.
  • Showcasing developmental work, governance reforms and citizen impact across departments.
  • Positioning Bihar as an investment-friendly destination by highlighting opportunities across sectors.
  • Creating collaborative platforms involving government departments, industry, startups, academia and local communities.
  • Developing a long-term brand architecture and strategic communication framework for the state.
  • Establishing AI-led monitoring systems and dashboards for sentiment mapping and perception analysis.

Focus On Investment And Strategic Communication

Officials said the initiative aims to improve Bihar’s visibility among investors and businesses while creating a stronger and more coherent narrative around the state’s growth story.

The government added that structured mechanisms for periodic updates, inter-departmental coordination and knowledge-sharing would be developed to ensure consistency in communication and outreach efforts.

‘Not Merely A Communication Initiative’

In a statement issued during the launch, the leadership behind the initiative described “Brand Bihar” as more than a conventional public relations exercise.

Officials said the programme was envisioned as a long-term effort aimed at aligning development, identity, investment and citizen participation into a unified vision for Bihar.

The initiative, they added, seeks to build a “future-ready identity” for the state by ensuring that Bihar’s achievements, opportunities and transformation are documented and communicated in a structured and impactful manner.
