Patna: Bihar’s Road Construction Minister Nitin Nabin inspected the Kanwaria path on Saturday to check the preparations for Shravani Mela. He spoke to devotees on the way to know their problems and told officials to finish all work quickly so that no devotee faces any trouble this year.
The minister said that like every year, the Road Construction Department has built a separate path for Kanwariyas to walk without traffic problems. Ganga sand has been used on the path to make walking easier. He also told officials to make sure health camps, drinking water, toilets, and resting places are available everywhere for devotees.
This year, the 82 km Kanwaria path in Bihar has been divided into 10 zones. Each zone will be checked by engineers to keep arrangements smooth. The government has given tenders for five years so that road maintenance can continue without delays. The path covers areas in Bhagalpur, Munger, and Banka districts.
The minister also announced a new project – a four-lane marine drive will be built along the Ganga from Bhagalpur to Munger, just like Patna’s Marine Drive. He said this 100 km road will help local development, tourism, and devotees visiting the area in future.
