Patna: The Bihar governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Wednesday called on young people to take an active role in shaping India’s future, urging them to combine innovation, leadership and positive thinking as the country moves towards its development goals.
The remarks were made during an interactive dialogue with selected participants from Bihar under the National Youth Festival–Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026, held at Lok Bhavan in Patna. The programme began at 10:30 am and was organised by the state’s Department of Art and Culture.

After the governor’s arrival, the event opened with the national anthem, followed by a formal welcome by the department’s secretary Pranav Kumar, who presented a commemorative memento and a sapling. In an introductory address, the secretary outlined the objectives of the programme and emphasised the role of young people in building a developed India.

During the main session, the governor engaged directly with the participants, encouraging them to contribute actively to nation-building through innovation, leadership skills and a constructive outlook. The young delegates shared their ideas, experiences and aspirations, seeking guidance on how they could play a meaningful role in public life and development.

Senior officials from the Department of Art and Culture, including the director of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs and the Joint Secretary, were present at the event.
The programme concluded with a second rendition of the national anthem, followed by a group photograph with the governor. Light refreshments were arranged for participants after the conclusion of the event.

Officials said the dialogue was aimed at strengthening young people’s confidence, leadership abilities and sense of responsibility towards the nation, marking it as a significant step in encouraging youth participation in India’s development journey.
