Patna: The Bihar government will organise a three-day state-level health and job fair at Gyan Bhavan in Patna from May 25 to 27 under the Bihar Skill Development Mission.
The event is being organised by the Department of Youth, Employment and Skill Development. Department secretary Kaushal Kishore said the fair aims to provide on-the-spot job opportunities to nearly 20,000 young people.
According to the department, preparations for the event are underway and officials from block to headquarters level have been directed to ensure maximum participation.
Over 100 institutions to participate
More than 100 institutions and companies are expected to take part in the fair, including Apollo Hospitals, Ford Hospital, MGM College, Medimix Healthcare and Care First.
The department said employment opportunities would be available both within India and abroad.
Recruitment will be conducted for various roles, including ANM, GNM, nursing staff, manufacturing and production workers, home attendants and general duty assistants.
Candidates with qualifications ranging from Class 10 and 12 certificates to ITI, diploma, graduate, postgraduate and PhD degrees will be eligible to participate.
Workshop on overseas employment
Separately, the department organised a consultation workshop with employer agencies at Pratibimb Auditorium in Patna to discuss structured and safe overseas employment opportunities for Bihar’s youth.
The workshop was chaired by Kaushal Kishore and attended by officials from the Directorate of Employment and Training, Bihar Skill Development Mission and representatives of employer agencies.
Focus on safe migration and global standards
The discussions focused on creating a transparent, safe and legal framework for international employment opportunities.
Officials deliberated on aligning skill development programmes with global employment standards, improving language proficiency, strengthening document verification processes and ensuring safe migration systems.
Other issues discussed included identifying overseas job opportunities, improving employer accountability, pre-departure counselling and coordination between government departments and recruitment agencies.
Kishore said the state government aimed to provide quality and secure job opportunities to young people so that they could contribute to economic development and compete at the global level.
