Patna: The Bihar Home Department has directed officials to expedite the disposal of pending matters across its various divisions and the Police Headquarters, with an emphasis on improving coordination between administrative and police wings.
The directions were issued by Home Secretary Kundan Kumar during a high-level review meeting held on Saturday to assess the status of pending work in the department.
Review Covers Multiple Police And Home Department Wings
The meeting included a detailed review of pending matters relating to several divisions and specialised units, including the Police Headquarters, Modernisation, Provisioning, Cyber, Prohibition and Narcotics Bureau, Training, Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) Project, Security, Special Branch, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Weaker Sections, Rail Police, Traffic, and the Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP).
Officials from each division presented progress reports and briefed the Home Secretary on outstanding issues.
Home Secretary Calls For Faster Disposal
During the meeting, Kundan Kumar instructed officials to dispose of all pending matters on a priority basis and ensure that no unnecessary delays occur at any stage of the administrative process.
He stressed the importance of strengthening coordination between the Home Department and the Police Department to facilitate timely decision-making and faster resolution of pending cases.
According to the Home Secretary, prompt disposal of pending matters would improve administrative efficiency, reinforce the state’s policing system and contribute to more effective maintenance of law and order.
Senior Officials Attend Meeting
The meeting was attended by several senior police and government officials, including Director General of Police (Operations) Kundan Krishnan, Additional Director General of Police Pankaj Kumar Darad, ADGP Sunil Kumar, ADGP Ajitabh Kumar, ADGP Sudhanshu Kumar, ADGP Amit Kumar Jain, ADGP Paras Nath, ADGP Nayyar Hasnain Khan, Inspector General Manoj Kumar, Special Secretaries Kshatranil Singh and Anil Kumar Chaudhary, and Joint Secretary Kamal Nayan, along with other officers from the Home Department, Police Headquarters and the concerned divisions.
