Patna: The Bihar government on Thursday carried out a fresh administrative reshuffle, assigning new responsibilities to nine Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across several key departments.
The General Administration Department issued a notification announcing the transfers and additional charges.
Key Secretaries Reassigned
Under the new postings, Abhay Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Information Technology Department, has been appointed Secretary of the Rural Works Department. He will continue to hold additional charge of the Information Technology Department.
Divesh Sehra, who was serving as Secretary of the Rural Works Department, has been posted as Secretary of the Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Protection Department.
Meanwhile, Deepak Anand, Secretary of the Food and Consumer Protection Department, has been transferred as Secretary of the Sports Department.
Changes In Education And Agriculture
The government has assigned Rajiv Roshan, Secretary of the Higher Education Department, the additional responsibility of Secretary of the Education Department until the conclusion of the Bankipur Assembly by-election.
Rachna Patil, Secretary (Expenditure), has been given additional charge as Secretary of the Agriculture Department.
New Appointments To State Corporations
Inayat Khan, Managing Director of the Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, has been appointed Managing Director of the Women and Child Development Corporation.
Dharmendra Kumar, Chairman of the Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation, has been given additional charge as Special Secretary in the Education Department.
Additional Responsibilities
Manesh Kumar Meena, Director (Mines), has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Managing Director of the Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited.
In another administrative change, Shweta Bharti, who was serving as Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) of Khagaria, has been transferred as Deputy Development Commissioner of Sitamarhi.
The latest reshuffle is part of the state government’s routine administrative exercise to reassign responsibilities across departments and public sector institutions.
