Patna: The Industries Department, Government of Bihar has stepped up its industrial outreach and investment review exercises in Siwan and Gopalganj districts as the state government seeks to accelerate manufacturing growth, entrepreneurship and employment generation.
Officials said the initiative forms part of Bihar’s broader push to strengthen industrial infrastructure and create a more investment-friendly ecosystem across districts.
Industries Secretary Reviews Industrial Units In Siwan
Industries Secretary, Kundan Kumar, who also serves as Managing Director of Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) and IDA Bihar, visited several industrial units in Siwan district to assess operational progress and future expansion potential.
During the visit, Kumar inspected:
- Prashad Traders (Sonam Chakki Fresh Atta)
- Faiz Building Construction
- Real Teach
Officials said the review focused on:
- Production capacity
- Employment generation
- Infrastructure needs
- Future industrial expansion opportunities
Kumar also interacted with local entrepreneurs and investors regarding measures required to accelerate industrial activity in the region.
Inspection Conducted At Hathua Industrial Area
The Industries Secretary later inspected Phase-3 of the Hathua Industrial Area in Gopalganj district.
During the visit, officials reviewed:
- Existing industrial infrastructure
- Availability of facilities
- Scope for future industrial development
- Investment promotion requirements
The department said instructions were issued for strengthening infrastructure and encouraging new industrial investment in the area.

Review Meetings Held On Entrepreneurship Schemes
A departmental review meeting was held at the Siwan district office under Kumar’s chairmanship to assess the implementation status of various industrial and entrepreneurship schemes.
Officials reviewed progress under key government programmes including:
- Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Yojana (MMUY)
- Prime Minister Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme (PMFME)
- Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)
Discussions were also held with investors and entrepreneurs to identify grassroots-level challenges and expedite solutions to pending issues.
The department said special emphasis was placed on promoting:
- Entrepreneurship
- Self-employment
- Local industrial development
- Small-scale enterprise growth
Gopalganj Meeting Focuses On Investment Promotion
A separate review meeting was later conducted at the Gopalganj Collectorate, where Kumar was accorded a formal Guard of Honour upon arrival.
The meeting reviewed implementation of:
- PMFME
- MMUY
- PMEGP
- PM Vishwakarma Yojana
- Other industrial and skill development schemes
Officials also discussed measures to improve district-level industrial investment and resolve operational issues faced by entrepreneurs.
Bihar Seeks Stronger Industrial Ecosystem
The Industries Department said Bihar was continuing efforts to:
- Build an investment-friendly environment
- Encourage entrepreneurship
- Expand industrial infrastructure
- Generate employment opportunities
Officials added that regular district-level reviews and industry interactions were intended to strengthen Bihar’s long-term industrial growth strategy and improve ease of doing business across the state.
