Patna: Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar made a surprise visit to the party’s state headquarters in Patna on Wednesday, where leaders were holding a strategy meeting for the upcoming assembly elections.
During his interaction with senior functionaries, Kumar stressed the importance of strengthening the party’s organisation at the booth level, telling leaders that with elections drawing near, “serious and sustained efforts” were required to mobilise workers and connect with voters.
Water Resources Minister Vijay Chaudhary and state president Umesh Kushwaha were present when the chief minister arrived. Kumar praised the presence and engagement of party leaders at the office and also enquired about their well-being, signalling a push for unity and morale-building within the organisation.
On the same day, the party’s minority cell convened a meeting of Muslim leaders at the JD(U) office. According to reports, leaders discussed the community’s electoral priorities and were given specific guidelines for campaigning. State president Umesh Kushwaha said the Muslim community remained “united” and expressed confidence in Kumar’s leadership.
