Patna: The Bihar government has reconstituted the Bihar State Kinnar Kalyan Board for the next three years, with the Social Welfare Minister appointed as its chairman. The 28-member board, which will be chaired by the Principal Secretary/Secretary of the Social Welfare Department, is comprised of 18 government and seven non-government members. The Social Welfare Director will serve as the Member Secretary. The notification was issued by the department on Friday.
The government has nominated seven non-government members to the board, including:
- Rajan Singh (Patna)
- Anupriya Singh (Patna)
- Shanti Nayak alias Suresh Hijra (Gaya)
- Santosh Kumar (Sonpur)
- Advika Chaudhary (Darbhanga)
- Sajan Kumar (Begusarai)
- Babli Kinnar
The government members include the Principal Secretaries or Secretaries from various key departments such as Finance, Home, General Administration, Health, Rural Development, Urban Development, Planning and Development, Education, and Labor Resources. Also included are a member nominated by the Bihar State Women Commission and the Managing Director of the Women and Child Development Corporation.
This reorganization of the Kinnar Kalyan Board is part of a series of commissions and boards that the Nitish government has recently formed or reorganized in the election year. These include the Mahadalit Commission, the Scheduled Caste Commission, the Fisherman Commission, and the Youth Commission, among others.
