Patna: The Revenue and Land Reforms Department Bihar has introduced a new digital system for land measurement across Bihar, standardising fees and making the entire process online.
Under the revised framework, the government has fixed clear rates for e-measurement services in both urban and rural areas.
Fixed rates for urban and rural areas
According to the new order:
- In municipal corporation, municipal council and nagar panchayat areas, the fee has been set at Rs 1,000 per khesra (plot)
- In rural areas, the fee will be Rs 500 per khesra
Officials said the move is aimed at bringing greater clarity and uniformity to the system.
Fully online application process
Applications for land e-measurement must now be submitted through the BiharBhoomi portal, with fee payments also required to be made online.
The department said digitising the process would reduce human interface and minimise the risk of malpractice or irregularities.
Faster, more transparent services
Authorities said the new system is designed to eliminate the need for repeated visits to government offices.
Applicants can now submit requests, make payments and track updates remotely, which is expected to save time and improve service delivery.
Push for digitisation
The government said the initiative is part of a broader effort to digitise land-related services and enhance transparency.
Officials added that streamlining land measurement processes could also help reduce disputes and improve administrative efficiency across the state.
