Bhojpur/Patna: Polling for the Bihar Legislative Council by-election in the Bhojpur-Buxar local authorities constituency continued on Tuesday, with Bihar Legislative Council Chairman Awadhesh Narayan Singh casting his vote at the polling station set up at the Piro block office in Bhojpur district.
Officials and polling personnel received Singh upon his arrival at the polling centre. Voting was reported to be peaceful during the day.
Chairman stresses importance of voting
After casting his vote, Singh highlighted the importance of participation in the democratic process. He said voting plays a key role in strengthening democracy and urged elected representatives to exercise their franchise.
The bypoll is being conducted for the Bhojpur-Buxar local authorities constituency, where elected representatives are eligible to vote.
Security tightened at polling centres
The administration put in place extensive security arrangements for the election process. Magistrates and police personnel were deployed at the polling station to maintain order and ensure smooth voting.
Security checks and monitoring were also intensified outside polling centres to prevent any disruption.
Voting underway from morning
Polling began at 8am and is scheduled to continue until 4pm. Authorities said arrangements had been made to ensure free, fair and peaceful voting across the constituency.
