Patna: A burglary worth an estimated Rs 25 lakh has been reported at a “Sona Do Paisa Lo” shop on Boring Canal Road, where thieves allegedly stole silver and cash after cutting through the shop’s shutter during the early hours of the morning.
The incident was captured on CCTV cameras, police said.
According to the complaint filed at Buddha Colony Police Station, the burglars escaped with approximately 7kg of silver and Rs 5 lakh in cash.
CCTV Shows Masked Men Carrying Safe
Shop owner Ashish said the CCTV footage showed two masked men entering the premises at around 2:39am after cutting through the shutter.
He alleged that the suspects first turned away an exterior surveillance camera to prevent footage from being recorded outside the shop.
After entering the premises, the two men reportedly removed a safe containing silver and cash before fleeing.
The stolen property is estimated to be worth around Rs 25 lakh in total.
Police Begin Investigation
Police officials said CCTV footage from surrounding roads and nearby lanes was being examined to identify the accused.
The shop owner also raised concerns over security arrangements in the area, noting that the locality is primarily residential and that a branch of State Bank of India operates directly above the establishment.
Investigators from Buddha Colony police station have begun efforts to trace the suspects using surveillance footage collected from nearby locations.
