Patna: Residents of Bihar are beginning to feel a gentle nip in the mornings and evenings, as meteorologists warn of a colder winter ahead starting November.
The state’s weather is expected to remain largely dry over the next three to four days, with westerly winds keeping skies clear and temperatures steady. Patna and surrounding areas will enjoy bright sunshine during the day, although a mild chill is likely as evening approaches.
According to the Patna Meteorological Centre, temperatures will fluctuate in the coming days, with a gradual decline anticipated. The department has also cautioned that the influence of La Niña across North India is expected to keep temperatures below normal, signalling a colder winter season.
Winter is projected to begin in Bihar by mid-November, with December and January likely to bring significant chill and cold spells, meteorologists said.
On Wednesday, Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 31.9°C, while Khagaria experienced the highest temperature at 34.5°C. Most districts saw a rise in maximum temperatures, though Nalanda, Chhapra, Supaul, Araria, Katihar, Bhagalpur, and Kishanganj were exceptions.
