Bihar Mourns Another Martyr in Operation Sindoor: Sepoy Sunil Yadav Succumbs to Pakistani Drone Attack Injuries

Buxar/ Patna: Bihar has tragically lost another son in the line of duty under Operation Sindoor, as Indian Army Sepoy Sunil Singh Yadav, who sustained injuries in a Pakistani drone attack in Jammu and Kashmir last month, succumbed during treatment. Yadav, a resident of Chausa in Buxar district, breathed his last in the hospital after a month-long battle for his life.
Sepoy Yadav was posted in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, and was injured in a drone attack on the night of May 9. He initially received treatment in Rajouri, but his condition deteriorated, necessitating his airlift to the Army Hospital in Udhampur on May 15. Despite intensive medical care, his life could not be saved.
A Month of Sacrifice: Bihar’s Fallen Heroes in May
Sunil Singh Yadav’s martyrdom adds to the list of sacrifices made by soldiers from Bihar amidst the heightened tensions surrounding Operation Sindoor in May 2025.
Earlier in May, BSF Sub-Inspector Mohammad Imtiaz, a resident of Narayanpur village in Saran district, was critically injured by Pakistani firing. He later succumbed to his injuries, and his last rites, performed on May 12 in his native village, drew thousands of mourners.
Following this, Army soldier Ram Babu, hailing from Siwan district, was also martyred in Jammu and Kashmir. His tragic demise came just three months after his marriage in February 2025, leaving his wife a young widow.
The wave of casualties continued with BSF Jawan Sikandar Raut from Nalanda district, who was martyred in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. Raut, who had been posted in Ranchi, Jharkhand, until recently, was deployed to Jammu and Kashmir due to escalating tensions with Pakistan. He was injured in an encounter with terrorists and passed away during treatment. Similarly, Havildar Santosh Yadav, an Army jawan from Bhagalpur district, was martyred in an accident during a search operation against terrorists in Nowshera, Jammu and Kashmir. His family received the devastating news of his martyrdom on May 20.
