Patna: Bihar has shown strong performance in the MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0 organised by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India. A total of 502 innovative ideas from across the country have been selected for funding this year. Bihar secured the 13th position nationally with seven selected ideas.
Each selected idea will receive financial support of up to Rs 15 lakh to help develop prototypes and turn concepts into real business models. The programme aims to support young innovators and encourage entrepreneurship across India.
A major contribution from Bihar came through the Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) and its incubation centre, CIMP-BIIF (Bihar Incubation & Innovation Foundation). Out of Bihar’s total selections, four incubatees were associated with CIMP-BIIF. Three of them came through the institute’s Host Institute programme, while one was selected from another institution.
Some of the selected ideas include Rahul Kumar’s “ShadowGrid”, which focuses on stealth, surveillance, and cyber defence technologies. Keshav Kumar’s “Project Starline” is an AI-based stealth glider drone concept. Another project, “Chill Roof” by Suraj Kumar, focuses on making eco-friendly cooling tiles to reduce heat in buildings.
Officials from CIMP said the achievement shows the growing interest of Bihar’s youth in innovation and startup culture. The institute is also providing guidance in areas like product development, financial planning, intellectual property, and management skills to help young entrepreneurs succeed.
The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises continues to support innovation across India through this hackathon programme. Along with CIMP-BIIF, other institutions such as IIT Patna and Gaya College of Engineering also contributed to Bihar’s selected ideas, showing a wider growth of innovation in the state.
