Citywide Road Closures in Patna Today for Nitish Kumar’s Oath Ceremony

Major roads around Gandhi Maidan will remain shut till 3pm today as authorities enforce extensive traffic changes for Nitish Kumar’s oath-taking ceremony.

Patna: Patna’s traffic network will undergo sweeping changes on Thursday as the city prepares for Nitish Kumar’s swearing-in ceremony at Gandhi Maidan. Until 3pm, several arterial routes will be closed, with diversions, restricted access, and designated entry points put in place to manage the expected crowds, VIP movement and security deployments.

🚧 Patna Traffic Alert: Major Restrictions Today!

(6 AM to 3 PM for Nitish Kumar’s swearing-in ceremony at Gandhi Maidan)

🚶‍♂️ Entry to Gandhi Maidan

  • 👥 General Public: Gates 7, 8, 9, 10
  • 🎫 VIP Entry: Gate 4 (Buddha Marg, near Commissioner’s Office)

🚫 Roads Completely Closed

  • ❌ Bhattacharya Road → Gandhi Maidan
  • ❌ SP Verma Road (from New Dakbungalow)
  • ❌ Police Line Tiraha → Gandhi Maidan
  • ❌ Ramgulam Chowk → JP Golambar
  • ❌ Buddha Marg → Chhajjubagh (TN Banerjee Path)
  • ❌ Bank Road, Thakurwadi Mor, Bakarganj Mor
  • ❌ Cuts near IMA Hall, Panache, Twin Towers, Maurya Hotel
  • ❌ Ashok Rajpath (Jamun Gali → Kargil Chowk)

🚑 Emergency-Only Route

  • 🚨 JP Golambar → Children’s Park
    Open ONLY for ambulances & emergency vehicles

  • ✈️ Airport-bound passengers → Use:
    • Rajabazar
    • Dumra Chowki
    • Tamtam Padav
    • Amukoda Mor
    • Phulwari–Khagaul Road
    • Anisabad Road
  • 🚗 Smoothest route to airport: Jagdeo Path
  • 🚘 Private vehicles move normally on:
    • Bailey Road
    • Nehru Path

  • 🅿️ Patna College & Science College campuses: 200 each

The sweeping restrictions form part of a broader security operation ahead of a high-profile ceremony attended by the prime minister, chief ministers and senior political leaders.
