Kishanganj: Two fake candidates were arrested on the first day of the Bihar Police Constable Recruitment Examination on Wednesday. The exam, which began on Wednesday, is being conducted by the Central Selection Board across 38 districts and will continue in six phases until August 3.
The arrests were made in Kishanganj when biometric verification revealed that the candidates appearing at two centres were impersonators. Guddu Kumar, a resident of Saur Bazar Market in Saharsa, was taking the exam at Chakla Upkramit Vidyalaya in place of Sonu Kumar. The second accused, Aditya Raj, from Simri Bakhtiyarpur in Saharsa, was found giving the exam at Jagannath School in place of Shatrughan Kumar.
“During biometric verification, it was revealed that both candidates were impersonating others. They have been arrested and are being interrogated. Further details will emerge after the investigation,” said Kishanganj SP Sagar Kumar.
The examination was conducted under tight security from 12 pm to 2 pm, with magistrates, police officers, and forces deployed at all centres including Patna. Eastern SP Parichay Kumar carried out inspections at multiple locations. Entry into exam centres is allowed only between 9.30 am and 10.30 am. Recruitment is being conducted for 19,838 constable posts, and physical tests will follow the written examination in subsequent phases.
