Patna: Bihar Police has launched a Smart Citizen Services Portal aimed at making public services more accessible and reducing the need for citizens to visit police stations.
Under the digital governance initiative, the portal enables users to access a wide range of police-related services from home, including tenant, domestic help and driver verification, as well as reporting missing persons and lost or found property.
Officials said one of the key features of the platform is that users can obtain a copy of an FIR without logging in. The portal also allows citizens to share confidential information and access details about proclaimed offenders and wanted criminals, in a move aimed at improving transparency.
The platform, available at citizenservices.bihar.gov.in, offers additional services after login. These include filing online complaints, reporting missing or kidnapped individuals, and accessing information related to unidentified persons or bodies.
Authorities said the portal has already helped bridge the gap between the police and the public by enabling online FIR registration. With the addition of new services, it is expected to further simplify access to law enforcement.
Other services available include character verification for tenants, drivers and domestic workers, registration for senior citizens, and information related to lost or recovered property.
Officials said the initiative would reduce dependency on physical visits to police stations, particularly for minor issues, and ensure faster and more transparent service delivery.
The government said the move reflects its broader push towards digitisation and citizen-centric governance, making essential services more efficient and accessible.
