Motihari: A female police inspector in Motihari, Bihar, has been suspended after she was caught on an audio recording demanding branded clothes and cash in exchange for granting bail. The officer, Abha Kumari, was posted at the Pipra police station in East Champaran district.
The incident came to light when the person accused in a case recorded a phone conversation with Inspector Kumari. In the audio, she could be heard asking for expensive clothes and money in return for helping the person get bail. The victim sent the audio to the police superintendent through WhatsApp, and the clip quickly went viral on social media.
Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat confirmed that an internal investigation was carried out. The allegations were found to be true, and Inspector Abha Kumari was immediately suspended. “No matter who the corrupt officer is, they will not be spared,” said the SP in a strong message to the police department.
The case has caused embarrassment for the local police, and the SP has warned all officers that strict action will be taken against any wrongdoing. The incident has raised questions about corruption within the police and sparked public anger across the district.
