Purnia : Following the conclusion of the Bihar Assembly elections and the ongoing festive season, train services in Bihar are experiencing unusually heavy passenger traffic. Many residents are returning home after voting or travelling for work, prompting the East Central Railway’s Samastipur Division to introduce special train services to ease congestion.
Among the newly announced services, the Purnia Court–Anand Vihar train (05579) is scheduled to depart from Purnia on November 14 at 16:30. The train will pass through key stations including Banmankhi, Madhepura, Saharsa, Supaul, Sitamarhi, Raxaul, Gorakhpur, and Bareilly, offering air-conditioned three-tier (3A) coaches for passengers.
Another special service, the Saharsa–LTT train (05585), will leave Saharsa on the same day at 06:45, traversing stations such as Simri Bakhtiyarpur, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Jabalpur, and Manmad. This train will provide a mix of accommodations, including two-tier and three-tier AC (2A, 3A), AC three-tier economy (3E), sleeper (SL), and general seating (GS).
