Patna: The Bihar revenue and land reforms department has approved disciplinary action against 10 officials following a review of departmental cases, amid ongoing efforts to address allegations of corruption and procedural lapses.
Revenue and land reforms minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal said the government would continue its “zero tolerance” approach towards bribery, misuse of office and negligence in public service delivery.
Officials said the action follows multiple complaints linked to mutation, land record verification and revenue administration.
Patna City DCLR among those facing allegations
One of the most prominent cases involves Abhilasha Sinha, deputy collector land reforms (DCLR), Patna City, who has been accused of accepting Rs. 15 lakh through an intermediary in connection with the disposal of a mutation appeal.
The department has framed charges and recommended her suspension to the general administration department.
In another case, Mukul Kumar Jha, former circle officer of Hajipur, is facing departmental proceedings based on a corruption case registered by the vigilance department.
Officials in several districts under scrutiny
The department has also initiated action against Neelkamal Kumar Sinha, assistant settlement officer in Aurangabad, over allegations of attempting to offer an online bribe to a senior official.
In Sitamarhi’s Runni Saidpur, revenue officer Vishwamitra Kharwar has been accused of rejecting applications without sufficient documentary evidence and allegedly demanding RS. 5,000 through an amin.
In Kishanganj, circle officer Rahul Kumar is facing allegations of irregularly rejecting mutation cases and declaring government land as privately held without proper verification.
More disciplinary action in Patna, Muzaffarpur and Banka
At Sampatchak in Patna district, circle officer Amit Kumar has been accused of raising unnecessary objections in mutation cases and delaying correction applications.
Former revenue officer of Kurhani in Muzaffarpur, Dheeraj Kumar, is facing charges of unauthorised absence, negligence and irregularities in mutation-related work.
The department is also pursuing action against Ranjit Kumar, currently serving as additional district land acquisition officer in Banka, over alleged irregular orders in encroachment cases during his earlier posting in Saharsa.
Pay increment withheld in Samastipur
In a separate case, Pushplata Kumari, circle officer in Samastipur, has been penalised after irregularities in mutation cases were found to be established.
The department has ordered the withholding of one salary increment without cumulative effect.
Meanwhile, charge sheets have also been approved against Narmada Srivastava, circle officer of Bagaha-1 in West Champaran, over alleged delays in mutation cases, loss of government revenue and failure to comply with court orders.
60 officials acted against in one month
According to the department, disciplinary or punitive action has been taken against 60 officers and employees over the past month in cases related to corruption, bribery, manipulation of land records and administrative negligence.
Officials said the government would continue to strengthen accountability mechanisms and improve transparency in land and revenue administration across the state.
