Araria: The Revenue and Land Reforms Department of Bihar has launched a month-long Revenue Maha Abhiyan aimed at correcting and updating land records of raiyats across the state. The drive, which began on 16 August, will continue till 20 September.
As part of the campaign, door-to-door surveys are being conducted to collect applications for corrections in land records, including heir transfers and partition transfers. Copies of jamabandi (land record documents) are also being distributed to raiyats at their homes.
District Magistrate of Araria inspected the special camp organized in Kamaldaha Panchayat and instructed officials to ensure the involvement of panchayat representatives in the distribution of jamabandi documents. He further directed that daily reports be submitted on time and all information be promptly uploaded on the department’s portal.
During the inspection, Additional Collector Anil Jha, Araria Zonal Officer, and other officials were present. The District Magistrate emphasized the need for smooth functioning of the campaign to benefit the people at the grassroots level.
At the Halka-level camps, citizens are submitting applications for jamabandi corrections and transfers. Officials said that residents can check the micro-plan of their respective zones to know about the jamabandi register and the schedule of camps in their panchayats.
