Patna: Bihar’s road construction minister Nitin Nabin on Thursday approved seven schemes worth Rs 70 crore for renovation of roads and drains across six districts. The schemes include two in Motihari and one each in Vaishali, Gopalganj, Purnia, Madhubani and Muzaffarpur.
Nitin said the government was working to ensure smooth and safe transport for citizens by identifying and renovating roads in urban and rural areas. “Not only construction of new roads but widening, drain construction and repair of damaged roads are included. Plans are being prepared to avoid waterlogging during the monsoon,” he said.
Over the last 11 days, 30 schemes worth more than Rs 195 crore have been approved across ten districts, including 11 in Patna, five in Motihari, three in Vaishali, two each in Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Madhubani and Sitamarhi, and one each in Saharsa, Purnia and Kaimur.
Nitin added that the state government, under the leadership of chief minister Nitish Kumar, remained committed to ensuring that people do not face inconvenience in transportation.
