Patna: The political and personal turmoil inside Lalu Prasad’s family deepened on Sunday as his daughter, Rohini Acharya, levelled fresh accusations against relatives, claiming she was abused, humiliated and expelled from the household. Her posts came just hours after she announced she was distancing herself from the family.
In her second online post within an hour, Rohini alleged that she had been told she was “dirty” and had transplanted her father’s “dirty kidney”, adding that “crores of rupees and tickets” were supposedly spent on the procedure. Rohini donated a kidney to Lalu Prasad in 2022, earning public admiration at the time.
Rohini wrote with sharp sarcasm that married daughters should “never, even by mistake, save their father”, urging them instead to let a son or “a Haryanavi friend” donate an organ if needed. “All sisters and daughters should take care of their own homes, children and in-laws,” she added, saying women should “think only about themselves”.
Reflecting on the decision to donate her kidney, she said: “I have committed a grave sin by not considering my family, my three children, and by not taking permission from my husband or in-laws. To save my father, my God, I did something that has been labelled dirty today.”

Her latest statements followed an earlier post in which she accused family members of hurling abuses at her, attempting to slap her and forcing her to leave her parents’ home. “I did not compromise my self-respect or abandon the truth,” she wrote. “Only because of this did I have to endure humiliation. A daughter left her crying parents and sisters.”
She alleged that she had been “snatched” from her maternal home and “left orphaned,” adding that she hoped no family would have a daughter like her.
The posts, framed in anguish and regret, have heightened the tensions already gripping the RJD leadership after its electoral defeat. Rohini has recently accused key figures close to Tejashwi Yadav of dominating decision-making and refusing to accept responsibility for the party’s loss, triggering a public rupture that appears far from resolved.
