Sheikhpura: A tragic road accident took place in Bihar’s Sheikhpura district on Tuesday, leaving the entire area in shock. A truck and an auto-rickshaw collided head-on near Maninda village on the Sikandra Road. The accident was so severe that four people died on the spot, and several passengers were trapped inside the completely damaged auto-rickshaw. People passing by rushed towards the scene as panic spread across the road.
Local residents immediately helped in taking the injured to Sheikhpura Sadar Hospital. Doctors tried their best to save the victims, but one more person died during treatment, raising the death toll to five. Hospital staff said that eight people are still in critical condition and require urgent medical attention. The families of the victims gathered at the hospital in tears, hoping for a miracle for their loved ones.
Eyewitnesses said the crash happened suddenly and without warning, and the auto-rickshaw had no chance to avoid the speeding truck. Pieces of the rickshaw were scattered across the road, and people nearby struggled to pull the trapped passengers out. After some time, police reached the accident site to inspect what happened and to clear the road for traffic.
The tragedy soon led to anger in the area. Villagers blocked the road and began protesting against the administration, accusing it of failing to ensure road safety. They said that speeding trucks frequently use the route and no action is taken to prevent accidents. The road blockade continued for hours until officials gave assurance of a proper investigation and steps to improve safety on the road.
The heartbreaking accident has once again raised the issue of increasing road accidents in Bihar. Residents are now requesting the government to take strict action, enforce traffic rules on busy routes and prevent such incidents from happening again. The administration has said that further details will be shared once the inquiry is completed.
