The Energy Secretary stressed the need to maintain complete accuracy in consumer tagging, which is considered essential for the effective functioning of the smart metering system.
He directed officials to carry out random verification of DT metering and consumer tagging activities across operational areas.
Agencies Asked To Submit Reports
During the meeting, all implementing agencies were instructed to submit verification reports confirming 100% completion of tagging work within the next 10 days.
Officials said the review also focused on strengthening quality control mechanisms, monitoring systems and accountability measures in the implementation process.
Focus On Power Distribution Efficiency
The Bihar government views smart metering as a key component of efforts to modernise the electricity distribution network and improve operational transparency.
Authorities said the initiative is expected to help strengthen energy management, reduce distribution losses and improve monitoring of electricity consumption across the state.
