Patna: A new Regional Training Centre (RTC) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is set to be established in the Pothia block of Kishanganj, in what the Bihar government has described as a major development for the Seemanchal region.
The announcement came shortly after the swearing-in ceremony of the expanded Bihar cabinet led by Samrat Choudhary.
Sharing the information on social media platform X, the chief minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah for approving the proposal.
Centre To Train Around 1,000 Personnel
According to officials, the training centre will be constructed on nearly 110 acres of land and is expected to provide training facilities for around 1,000 CISF personnel.
Security experts said the location carries strategic significance because Kishanganj lies close to an international border and forms part of Bihar’s sensitive Seemanchal belt.
The proposed facility is expected to support training operations linked to the protection of industrial establishments and critical infrastructure across the country.

Employment And Infrastructure Push
Government officials said the project is also expected to generate employment opportunities for local residents.
During the construction phase, sectors including transportation, hospitality, retail and small businesses are expected to benefit from increased economic activity.
Authorities believe the operational training centre will also create long-term indirect employment opportunities in the surrounding region.
Land Acquisition Process To Be Fast-Tracked
Administrative officials said instructions have already been issued to accelerate land acquisition for the project.
Infrastructure development related to roads, electricity supply, water facilities and communication networks is also expected to be taken up alongside the project.
The Bihar government described the approval as a significant step towards strengthening both security infrastructure and regional development in Seemanchal.
