Patna: Three teachers from Bihar have been named among the recipients of the National Teacher Award for 2025, an honour that will be presented by the president of India on Teachers’ Day in New Delhi.
The award, given annually to recognise excellence and innovation in education, will this year be conferred on 45 teachers across the country. From Bihar, the awardees are Kumari Nidhi from Kishanganj, Dilip Kumar from Supaul and Dr Pramod Kumar from Nalanda.
Nidhi, the head teacher of a government school in Kishanganj, has been recognised for her leadership and classroom reforms. Kumar, a teacher at a girls’ high school in Supaul, was selected for his dedication to education and focus on students’ development. Dr Kumar, who teaches at Nalanda Sainik School, was commended for his contributions to pedagogy and his efforts to raise teaching standards.
The recognition, seen as one of the most prestigious in the field of education, marks not only a personal milestone for the three but also a moment of pride for Bihar. Education officials said the awards would serve as an inspiration for other teachers to innovate and strive for excellence.
